Somnandi Industries, a leading acoustic enclosure manufacturer in India, has completed a high-specification, fully custom gas turbine acoustic enclosure project for the Adani Group, one of India's largest and most influential infrastructure conglomerates. This project represents a significant engineering milestone in the field of industrial noise control solutions, executed under stringent performance, environmental, and operational constraints.
Designed to enclose a heavy-duty gas turbine, the Industrial noise control solution addresses a range of challenges, including high-decibel emissions, thermal discharge, vibration control, and spatial constraints. The project was delivered under a complete turnkey model, encompassing acoustic analysis, design, manufacturing, installation, and final validation, all of which were entirely executed in-house by Somnandi's multidisciplinary team.
Achieve substantial reduction in turbine noise emissions in line with CPCB norms
Ensure thermal performance, allowing uninterrupted turbine operation
Integrate vibration isolation mechanisms for structural stability
Deliver a durable, weather-resistant enclosure suitable for 24/7 outdoor industrial use
Maintain easy accessibility for maintenance and turbine service activities
Somnandi’s acoustic engineering team conducted an in-depth site survey using Class 1 instrumentation to evaluate baseline noise levels, turbine specifications, vibration behavior, and thermal discharge patterns.
Using 3D CAD and finite element simulations, the design team developed a modular acoustic structure tailored to the turbine’s geometry. Advanced modeling accounted for airflow optimization, insulation layering, structural resonance suppression, and service access zones.
All panels were manufactured at our ISO-compliant facility using CNC machining and robotic welding systems. High-density, fire-rated acoustic insulation was incorporated. Dimensional precision, mechanical integrity, and acoustic absorption performance were validated through a structured QA protocol.
Installation was managed by Somnandi’s field engineering division, in close coordination with the Adani project team. Modular panels were installed using high-tolerance fasteners and acoustic seals. Ventilation ducts, louvers, and access hatches were integrated without disrupting turbine operation.
Comprehensive testing confirmed that the enclosure achieved the required noise attenuation performance, maintaining levels well within CPCB regulatory limits. Validation included frequency-specific measurements across low, mid, and high bands.
