Blast resistant doors - also referred to as blast proof doors - are special protective solutions to shield life and property from the disastrous effects of explosions. Designed for important areas such as compressor rooms, transformer enclosures, boilers, military facilities and other explosion-prone environments, these doors play an important role in reducing disaster effects.

Available in both single-wing and double-wing configuration, our blasts are engineered to prevent the progress of blast waves, preventing them from entering protected areas. They are able to understand the intensive explosion and provide strong protection against pellets and high-veg debris, ensuring maximum security.

SomNandi’s blast resistant doors are built to endure overpressures up to 40 bar peak reflected overpressure, with an impressive fire resistance rating of up to 180 minutes (3 hours) in accordance with BS 476 Part 20 and 22 standards. These doors can be fabricated in sizes up to 4 meters wide by 6 meters high, and custom dimensions are also available to suit project-specific requirements.

OUR PRACTICES

MANUFACTURING OF DOORS

Blast Doors are constructed using steel box section and steel sheet which is fully welded as per the design specification.
The frame is designed for casting into the door opening.
It is recommended that blast door frames are cast into the building fabric. This provides a stronger mounting and
means no drilling, or unnecessary penetrations through the host building wall around the opening.
